How to Avoid The Risk of Hypoglycemia When Exercising ?

Adjust the selected type of sport with your physical condition. It would be better if the chosen sport to its light weight so it will not burden the people with physical as well as keep them from the risk of hypoglycemia.

Hypoglycemia is a condition in which diabetics blood sugar decreased quite dramatically. This condition is usuall
y often experienced when exercising, especially when sports are chosen too heavy.

In addition, other factors such as eating too little carbohydrate foods or foods that contain starch and the use of certain types of drugs, can also increase the risk of hypoglycemia.

In this case, if the patient is currently using diabetes medications or insulin before exercise, then there are some things that need to be considered to reduce the risk of hypoglycemia following:

1.     Check your blood sugar levels.
If in the range of 100 mg / dl before exercise, then it would be better if you consume carbohydrate snack or light meal before exercising.

     2.   If your blood glucose level exceeded 100 mg / dl before exercise,

then you do not need to consume carbohydrate snack beforehand. However, these snacks you might need during or after exercise. Therefore always provide the carbohydrate snack just in case if your blood sugar levels then decreased quite dramatically during and after exercise.


If necessary, make sure your blood sugar levels are not under the 70 mg / dl after exercise. If this is the case, then immediately consume carbohydrate snack, whether it be candy, bread medium size and others in order to avoid hypoglycemic reactions.

•     Always have glucose tablets each would exercise.This is because glucose tablets have a rapid effect in terms of restoring blood sugar levels dropped dramatically.

•    If it is necessary, you can also consider wearing identity card which shows that you are diabetic, so when there is something that is not desired, the people around you can immediately know it as well as providing relief. In addition to some of the above, there are still a few more things that need to be considered by diabetics when going to work out, as will be described below:

Checks Every Body Part You Before Exercising is a good idea before you exercise, you examine every part of your body. This is important in order to know if there is one or several parts of your body are swollen blisters or even till the wound. By knowing earlier, then the treatment will be immediately given to swelling, blisters or even injuries can be overcome with good form.

This also reduces the risk of developing a diabetic ulcer wounds.

1.     Note Footwear
Choose good footwear. Normally, it would be safe if used while exercising footwear or boots are made from rubber. This is because the rubber more pliable making it easy to follow the motion of the foot when exercising.

With materials such shoes, the friction between the skin of the foot with shoe materials can be minimized so that the risk of blisters or even injuries can be reduced. Additionally, the rubber material is also known to be able to absorb sweat more effectively so that your feet will not be humid during exercise.
 
     2.  Use the Right Sports Apparel

Sports wear also can provide comforting for " diabetes " during exercise. Therefore it would be better if you choose workout clothes that the material is able to absorb sweat more effectively. Avoid wearing clothes that are too tight because it was feared would increase the risk of blisters or even injuries to specific body parts.
